About the Federation

A stronger welfare network for the Caribbean

The Caribbean Federation of Police Welfare Associations (CFPWA) is a non-profit regional body that advocates for the rights, welfare and working conditions of police officers across the Caribbean. It was founded on 25 May 2007 in Nassau, Bahamas, after nine countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

Core Mission

Enhance the productivity and operational standards of law enforcement, and create and sustain welfare programmes that support police officers and their families throughout the region.

“One Voice, One Vision”

Uniting the region’s police welfare organizations into one cohesive force that elevates policing solidarity and protects the labour, safety and rights of front-line officers.

Advocacy

Operational resources, adequate healthcare provision, and uniform standards for working conditions, housing, mental health support and equipment.

Meetings

Annual General Meetings and mid-year Intercessional Meetings to review challenges and share strategies. The executive board’s current term runs 2025–2027.

Six Core Objectives
  1. Unity in DiversityTurning individual island strengths into regional capability.
  2. Resilience Amidst AdversityPreparing officers for climate, economic and social upheaval.
  3. Empowering GuardiansInvesting in the professional advancement of rank-and-file officers.
  4. Building Trust and TransparencyPublic integrity that starts within the ranks.
  5. Advancing Justice and EqualityFair treatment for all personnel, regardless of rank.
